Why Mogrify?

At Mogrify, you’ll be joining a passionate and innovative team of world experts whose mission is to pioneer a new class of in vivo reprogramming therapies to treat degenerative disease, using our proprietary suite of platforms to direct cellular reprogramming (Rackham et al., Nature Genetics, 2016) and the maintenance of cell identity (Kamaraj et al., Cell Systems, 2020). Working in a highly dynamic and collaborative environment, you will help to develop revolutionary therapeutic modalities and address disease areas with unmet clinical need, making a difference to your colleagues, collaborators and to the patients we serve.

We believe that success is a journey undertaken by aligned individuals who respect and enjoy each other, an ethos that since its inception has enabled Mogrify to redefine what is possible for an early-stage biotech. To date, we have raised over $40 million USD funding, established a team with unparalleled track records and received recognition from industry peers for our innovation and potential to be transformative in the discovery and development of new medicines.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for a highly skilled and ambitious Scientist I or II to join our team, supporting the development of a novel reprogramming therapy to regenerate beta cells for the treatment of diabetes. The right candidate will believe nothing is impossible, and that given the right opportunity, their hard work and adaptability will allow them to achieve the highest standards, delivering world-class science, commercial success and patient impact.

At Mogrify, you will:

  • Join a world-class team of wet laboratory and computational scientists to push the limits of what’s currently possible, and to pioneer and implement cell transdifferentiation technologies.
  • Provide scientific expertise for ongoing research, contributing to all phases of the project from experimental design through to execution and reporting.
  • Design and conduct experiments to test cell conversion, and perform functional and phenotypic characterization of the generated cells using state-of-the-art techniques.
  • Analyze and interpret experimental data from multiple experiments, identifying problems or bottlenecks and resolving technical issues.
  • Learn new techniques and contribute ideas and solutions that improve the way we work. Provide technical training in specific techniques and technologies to other team members.
  • Be an active and flexible member of the team, able to adapt to changing priorities.

Candidate profile:

  • PhD in cellular and molecular biology or related discipline, or equivalent experience such as BSc/MSc with demonstrable, relevant follow-on experience.
  • Experience with mammalian cell culture required, with primary cell culture, 3D cell culture and experience with viral transduction of cells desirable.
  • Experience in immunohistochemistry, confocal microscopy and image analysis is highly desirable.
  • Experience with other cell analysis and characterization techniques including QPCR, flow cytometry, ELISA and sequencing would be advantageous.
  • Ability to plan and prioritize own work in order to meet deadlines, and deliver high quality results whilst working independently following established standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Excellent organizational and record-keeping skills
  • Must be highly collaborative, able to work in a growing and diverse international team and have a “can do” attitude
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
